So, the Nobel committee didn’t agree afterall?

According to new reports this morning, the Nobel Committee wasn’t unanimous afterall.  Three of the five committee members objected to Obama receiving the award at this time, though eventually relented.  That is somewhat different from the impression left last week as the board was unified in their support for him.  Let us not forget that one doesn’t actually have to do something substantive to win this “prestigious” award.

“(awarded) for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

Obama was on the “job” 12 days before being nominated.  Can anyone think of anything extraordinary that Mr. Obama had done within his first 12 days of office to deserve such an award, other than to cowtow to the European nations that are hellbent and upset at their continued decline in the world?
