Tea Party

If you had asked me a month ago who made up the Tea Party movement I would have probably said it was virtually all conservatives with a small portion of independents.  Imagine my utter surprise when I learned yesterday that three separate polls made between December and February confirmed that 41% of the movement were Independent and Democrats.  13% Democrat, 28% Independent, and 57% Republican.

41%, while a minority, is a sizable minority.  In fact 41% is a giant elephant in terms of a demographic that I think was wholly unexpected.  But will the MSM, who have spared little effort to smear the entire movement, now acknowledge the movement has wide appeal?  That the people who make up the movement, are indeed, concerned about their country and the philosophy it was founded upon?

Of course not.

More on the demographics.
