2012 was the beginning of the end

I won’t lie, the November election was a stinging defeat for Republicans.  Only about 1 million more voters voted for Mitt Romney in 2012 than voted for John McCain in 2008, which is completely dumbfounding considering the polls leading up to the election and the state of the economy under Obama’s first term.  And that on top of the blow the Supreme Court gave to the American people which removed all pretense that government was the servant of the people.  Looking back over these last several months I’ve come to the realization that I simply do not recognize this country any longer.

We as a people are irredeemably envious of everyone around us, spoiled, materialistic, ignorant — of history, of principle, of human nature –, and simply deserve everything we get from this point forward.  We are all now slaves to government; a government that restricts and removes our rights and our privacy more and more each day.  A government that punishes success and rewards failure.  A government that divides us and sets one upon another.  And half of the country applauds and asks for more.  Our media lavishes praise on and proclaims the very cancer as the “second coming“.

Obama is no second coming, rather he’s the beginning of the end.  Obama’s ballyhooed change is all around us.  The economy hasn’t recovered from the recession and threat of a double dip is very real because those running the government today do not believe in the very economic forces that drive the economy.  Businesses all around the country have reacted and are cutting back the hours of their employees and converting full time jobs to part time jobs in order to skirt around Obamacare laws.  Action that will only exacerbate the economic troubles our country continues to face.  When combined with the reality of a dwindling workforce and its impact on entitlement spending and the national budget one can’t look at the state of our nation today and feel anything but a deep foreboding.

We are all slaves now

Today’s SCOTUS ruling upholding Obamacare’s Constitutionality is not only an affront to the very principles this nation was founded upon, but also the end of any illusion of freedom we had left.  As of today non individual in this country has any real control over the limit government now has on them.  As of today, we are a nation of slaves beholden to government.  As of today government is no longer “of the people, by the people, for the people”.  Today, government is master and can now legitimately rule our lives like it has never been able to do before.

I won’t bother commenting on the ruling itself, other than to say I am ashamed of Justices Kennedy and Roberts.  They swore to uphold the Constitution and did exactly the opposite today.  Our forefathers — Madison the least of which — which weap in shame at what was committed today.  What I did want to comment on, and particularly for the scurrilous Americans that voted for Obama, are the very likely unintended consequences of today’s ruling.  That slippery slope is a bitch, and I hope every single individual that voted for Obama tumbles right over it.

Today the Supreme Court ruled that Government can control what you eat, and can punish you if you do not adhere to the inevitable dietary regulations that are coming.  Don’t believe that’s possible?  Go talk to New York City and Boston.  Today the Supreme Court rules that government can control how much energy you consume, and can punish you if you you do not adhere to the inevitable restrictions that are coming.  Don’t believe that’s possible?  Go talk to the U.N., and the passel of lawmakers in states and the federal level that are working hand in hand to enact carbon taxes.  Today the Supreme Court ruled that Government has ultimate say in your healthcare and can punish you if you don’t adhere to the regulations.  Many of which are already in place.  Don’t believe that?  Go talk to the 43 Catholic Denominations that are currently suing the Government for trampling religious freedom.  Wait and see that its inevitable that rationing will occur.  As has been the case of every single nation that has implemented a national healthcare system.

Today the Supreme Court ruled that we are no longer a single people.  As of today we are “us” and “them”.  As of today we are a nation of mob rule; a nation in which those who pay no income taxes — some 50% of all working adults — make the rules under which the other 50% of adults who do pay income taxes have to live.  Its the ultimate socialist society in which the productive half of the country has to support themselves, along with those who are not productive.  And have zero say about it.

I see little reason why those individuals who do not believe in our founding principles should enjoy the very system those principles created.  Tell me why we Conservatives should not, from this moment forth, use the very tactics of the left to defeat them.  If we are not a nation of principles and laws, why should we not also actively attack Democrats?  Why should we not intrude upon the homes and work places of Democrats?  Why should we not destroy the property of Democrats?  Why should we not perpetrate voting fraud to ensure our candidates win?  Why should we not practice intimidation?

Oh you fools, you know not what you did today.

The things people say when they think no one is listening

Not that a Michael Bloomberg endorcement would be anything to desire as a Republican, but in a candid moment when Michael Bloomberg lets slip that Mitt Romney would be a better President than Barack Obama?  You know that must have had a few tongues wagging in the west wing!  Of course Bloomberg is only saying what a lot of Democrats of thinking, even if they can’t say it publicly.  So now can we Republicans start saying to Democrats that if they don’t vote for Mitt Romney that they are Religious Bigots?

Voting with my Wallet

The level of stupidity of the average liberal entertainer never ceases to amaze me. At the same time they both scream for the government to protect their right to vomit whatever their few brain cells can muster, and for the government to stop others from speaking out in response. It’s a hypocrisy of giant proportion. A condition undoubtedly brought about by something in the Californian water.

Evidently those towering intellects of the left coast don’t realize the same right to spew stupidity is the same right accorded to others which enables them to register their displeasure; to judge. Evidently it never occurred to some of those geniuses that when your livelihood is entertainment and relies on the positive impressions of others, you might not want to antagonize a hefty percentage of the public with your partisan political agenda.

Which brings me to my point. Liberals are always threatening boycotts and it’s about time they reap what they’ve sown. It’s high time we conservatives stop funding liberal entertainers and the Hollywood entertainment machine.  Ever dollar we provide it is used against us, and I see no reason to enrich those who revile the very principles this country was founded upon and which we conservatives cherish.  Let us teach those on the left they can spit upon out institutions, our country, and our beliefs but they won’t get rich doing it.

As an example I’ve stopped purchasing music by groups who actively attacked the right.  Likewise I’ve stopped seeing movies, watching TV shows or series, and purchasing DVDs with active left leaning actors and actresses.  And I’ve stopped purchasing books from authors who actively campaign against my principles.  I encourage others to do the same.  I’d rather do without than see another single dollar of mine find its way to the wallets of the likes of Alec Baldwin, Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, and others.

This is why Obama can’t run on his record

Obama never really quit campaigning after the 2008 election.  Undoubtedly he must have been thinking forward to all of the accomplishments he was going to usher through Congress as he stood under Greek columns in 2008 accepting the Democratic nomination for President.  Not many think he’ll make that mistake again — of festooning with such pomp again that is.

But life has a habit of not going the way we want it to.  And for someone who spent his entire life ducking responsibility — drug use, refusal to take stands on controversial legislation, minimal private sector work experience — he simply wasn’t prepared for the disappointments and tasks that would lay ahead of him.  Instead of walking into the White House and immediately getting to work setting the economy to right, he lacked executive experience and knowledge that he would need in order to do that.  Instead, he ushered through a $900 Billion Stimulus package which funneled millions to campaign donors and other connected individuals; instituted $100 Billion in highly questionable loans to companies that likely couldn’t have gotten them on their own through the private sector (Solyndra, and many others); and failed to create the jobs President Obama promised would come of borrowing nearly an additional $1 trillion dollars.

Jobs that were created through the stimulus legislation, however, ended up costing the country $300-500k to create per job.  Yes, you saw that figure right.  However, that figure is reflective of the administration’s claim of “saved” and created jobs.  A claim that is entirely unsupportable in that you can’t document jobs that weren’t lost, but were saved none-the-less.  The administration now counts jobs that are supposedly “funded” by stimulus dollars, instead.  Free money to pay my existing employees? Sure, I’ll take some! Hire new employees? Are you kidding? Demand drives hiring and we have none of that around here, thank you very much!  The actual figure is likely higher, though I haven’t seen a credible figure yet.

Instead President Obama ushered through Obamacare, which most expect to be tossed by the Supreme Court later this year despite considerable political capital expended by the President and Congressional Democrats to pass it.  Itself, a tremendously expensive drain on the nations budget!  Estimates now show that the initial 10 year cost will be $1.7 Trillion, though even that cost is gamed.  In order to get it passed, Congressional Democrats back loaded the costs while immediately instituting the taxes and fees.   The figure represents only 6 years of actual Obamacare related spending, but 10 years of taxes related to it.  The cost will balloon as time passes, though how much is impossible to determine.

Instead of fostering realistic economic growth President Obama has gone on a spending spree the likes of which the world has never seen before.  He’s drowned the United States in debt, having accumulated more current and projected debt than all of the previous Presidents before him combined.  In terms of real debt he accumulated more than President Bush did in 8 years, in less than 2 years.  Lacking in a business background, President Obama simply doesn’t understand how to create jobs.  Nor do his advisers, who like him  are similarly lacking in the knowledge and skills businesses tap to foster growth and economic demand.  Such a waste.  A waste that points to the President’s unrealistic ideology, which is grounded in the world of academia where there are no actual repercussions for being wrong.

President Obama promised he would create jobs, and hasn’t. President Obama promised to reign in the cost of healthcare, and hasn’t. President Obama promised to banish lobbyists from the White House, and didn’t.  President Obama promised he was post-racial, but throws the race card in every instance anyone disagrees with him. And the list goes on.  This is why President Obama can’t run on his record, and why his entire campaign will be negative.  That negativity has already begun and will only get worse as the 2012 campaign season kicks into high gear.

For those who want to see the facts about the Obama administration, here are a few charts to digest.  While they should be self explanatory, I’ll discuss them briefly for the liberals in the audience.  The data for each of the charts was obtained directly from the CBO, Dept. of Labor, and the Treasury.  Read more…

My Liberal Cousin is the Poster Child of Liberalism

Many families have their pockets of liberals, and I have mine too.  But the one family liberal that drives me the craziest is my cousin – we’ll call him Eugene.  He’s the youngest son of a dear Aunt of mine, who is many years younger than me, and hence not someone I am very close with.  Yet we talk and are on pretty good terms with one another.  We’re on Facebook together, we follow each other on Twitter and Text back and forth every now and again.  But to be honest, that’s about as far as I can go because he drives me insane.  I’ve been near to de-friending him on Facebook numerous times because of his liberal ramblings, that are often quite horrendous.  He’s the typical liberal who relishes being as condescending, and scandalous as possible.   A lot of what he writes is plain offensive, and I know at least one other family member has de-friended him on Facebook because of it.

He’s family, what can I say?  I haven’t de-friended him.  Instead I simply ignore his postings, but occasionally he posts something that just strikes me so wrong that I simply can’t ignore it.  Such was the case this past week.  Eugene is an OWS supporter, and deeply believes in the liberal mantra that that the world owes him everything.  Including a college education, a home, a job, and everything in between.  And he doesn’t believe that he should have to work for any of it.  He is a few years out of High School and had started attending a local community college immediately after, but dropped out because his grades were horrible and something about ineligibility for more student aid because of defaulting on previous loans.  Instead of doing his class work and earning good grades, he did drugs and partied.

He’s in a terrible bind because he has no job skills to speak of, and can find no work other than minimum wage, bottom of the ladder work.  He was working two jobs until recently, but was just furloughed this past week from one of them for at least 60 days and is now worried he won’t be able to pay his rent and his car payment.  But from reading his posts all week you’d think he was fired.  Mainly because he said he was.  I had to ask him why he was fired, half expecting to to hear a story of disrespect toward his manager or some such.  Again, mainly because of all the horrible things he writes about her.  From his writing on Facebook I have this horrible picture of him flipping her off on a daily basis, and punctuating it all with a tirade of profanity.  He wasn’t actually fired, but was chosen to be furlough and he’s taking it out on the world.  Instead of blaming his particular situation on his previous actions — having to drop out of school and current ineligibility to receive more financial aid — he condemns his employer and capitalism.  Instead of blaming his lack of initiative to gain more marketable job skills while he was employed, he doubles down on the Occupy Wall Street nonsense.  As if the banking industry had anything to do with his sloth.

That is the one thing that strikes me the most of liberalism.  Liberalism pays no credence to personal responsibility.  Liberalism allows no personal faults.  Liberalism demands tolerances of the liberal, but refuses to be tolerant of dissenting opinion or belief.  Liberalism is the philosophy of envy.  Envy of anyone that has worked hard and achieved more than the liberal.  And liberalism is the philosophy of thievery.  How else could you possibly describe the advocation of forcibly taking from one to give to another?

Such a striking difference between Eugene and his older brother, who graduated college and is now nearly two years into what is looking to be a promising career.  In Eugene’s brother just accepted a higher paying job in California and will be moving there within the next few weeks.  Life is looking up for the conservative brother who buckled down and is doing what he needs to be doing to get ahead in life.  Not so much for his younger brother, who instead is blaming the rest of us for his misfortune.

Obama is so smart we can’t understand him?

Seriously?  This is what the administration wants us to know regarding the President’s outlandish statements on the Supreme Court recently?  President Obama — a Constitutional Law Professor — wants the Supreme Court to ignore the Constitution and instead wants them to look toward politics when judging law?  Do we understand that correctly Mr. President?  Funny how Democrats want the Supreme Court to look to the law regarding other favored categories, such as Abortion, Title IX, Segregation, and a litnany of other liberal hot button issues.

No Mr. President, we understood you precisely prior to all of your recent back tracking.  Hypocritical much?
